In early 2014, Tony Gwynn’s team approached AleSmith to create a distinctive beer for the baseball legend. A meeting was called at the Gwynn household, which included a sampling of AleSmith beers to identify Tony’s preferences. He wanted the beer to be “light with a kick” which he elaborated further to mean full of hop character and light in body and color. The result of the Gwynn family’s feedback on test batches rendered a golden pale ale full of American hop flavor and aroma, with a subdued bitterness and a malty sweet finish. AleSmith San Diego Pale Ale .394 pays tribute to the city that Tony loved and the career-high batting average that he achieved in ‘94. Discover what happens when a Hall of Fame perfectionist crafts a beer with a world-class brewery. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Tony and Alicia Gwynn Foundation (TAG).

This classic German-style amber lager has been brewed in Germany and Austria for hundreds of years, though it was made famous for being served at Munich’s Oktoberfest celebration since 1872. Modern versions exported to the United States are often labeled Oktoberfest and the name has become synonymous in the minds of most brewers and consumers with the traditional Märzen style, though modern iterations of the style in Europe are considerably lighter. Our take on this classic is characterized by a clean, elegant, and toasty malt character. Prost!

Imperial Stout with Cacao Nibs, Roasted Peanuts, Sea Salt, and Coffee. We’ve transformed our classic Speedway Stout into a decadent peanut butter cup-inspired treat. Roasted peanuts blend with rich chocolate malts, bold coffee, and Dominican cacao nibs. The result is a perfect balance of salty, roasty peanuts and rich, decadent chocolate. Subtle sweetness, warming alcohol, and smooth chocolate create a well-rounded sip.

For this collab, you’ve been dealt two ace breweries split by the distance between San Diego and Reno. We partnered with our friends at Revision Brewing to make a West Coast-style IPA. This beer features notes of tropical fruit, pine, and berries from Idaho 7, Chinook, and Mosaic hops.

This barrel aged version of our Scotch-style ale is matured in premium bourbon barrels and rum barrels to add layers of complexity to its rich, malty flavor profile.
