Each hop harvest, the big city brewers from Cloudburst Brewing make the trek from downtown Seattle over the Cascades to team up with the farm brewers from Bale Breaker to brew Citra® Slicker Wet Hop IPA. While it takes the Cloudburst team over two hours to get to Bale Breaker, the hundreds of pounds of wet Citra® hops picked fresh from the fields travel just four minutes from farm to kettle. Founded by Cerveceria de Colima, Cerveza Loba, Ronin Fermentation Project, SouthNorte, Yakima Chief Hops and Bale Breaker. A portion of the proceeds from this beer goes to local non profits who support migrant farm workers. Made with 28lbs per barrel of mango puree, this summer ale has low bitterness and smells like freshly-sliced ripe mango with hints of mandarin orange.

While on the lighter side, Bale Breaker’s newest seasonal beer is dry-hopped with two exciting new hop varieties. Ekuanot™ imparts the bright citrus hop notes, while the still-experimental hop variety, HBC344, provides a touch of tropical fruit character.

After the January 2018 release of The Ossifier bartel-aged IPA, our first collaboration with Jameson, they sent us more Irish whisky barrelsall the way from Middleton to play around with. Our next experiment: a red rye the color of a Yakima wildfire sunset. Aged in Jameson barrels for 1 month. Tasting notes: hoppy crème brûlée. Vanilla, citrus, pine, spice, hazelnut, licorice.
