Lip-smacking hints of coffee and chocolate, as the dark body gives up its aromatic coconut roastedness. Northern Brewer and Willamette hops provide a mellow treat. Enjoyed slowly from a City Lights goblet glass which allows the emerging and progressive nutty aspect of this coconut porter to take center-stage at mid-palate. Vic Secret is a newer aroma hop out of New Zealand characterized by its strong tropical fruit flavors and aromas.

City Lights Brewing Co. - Mexican Lager
Style: Mexican Lager

This delicious Mexican-style lager has classic grainy notes from a healthy amount of Vienna malt with a touch of sweetness from flaked corn and is fermented with Mexican lager yeast for a nice crisp finish. Additions of Tettnang hops give herbal and spicey notes of the traditional German noble hop varieties. We’ve added a fresh twist with late additions of Motueka hops to add flavor and aroma notes of fresh lime. To further accentuate the lemon and lime flavors and aromas, we add a delicate dry hop addition of Motueka midway through fermentation. A delicate balance of malt, hops, and yeast makes this Mexican-style lager eminently drinkable.

This powerful version of a mid-western pale ale sweeps the palate with mango, lemon, citrus, tropical fruit and stone fruit. This multitude of flavor sinks deep into the taste buds, briefly clinging to the roof of the mouth which enlivens the palate and adds zest. The palate cleansing hop character comes courtesy of Mosaic and Ekuanot hop varieties from the Pacific Northwest.
