The origin of Point Bock Beer can be traced back to 1938. Production was discontinued in 1942 to be returned after WWII in 1945. Since that time, for more than 55 years, Point Bock was brewed yearly. This recipe was discovered in the archives by Brewmaster Gabe Hopkins – a traditional bock with toasty malt sweetness, full-bodied flavor, and a rich roasted aroma.

He is most remembered for writing the Rule of St. Benedict that, among other virtues, teaches humility. Inspired by this Rule we humbly offer St. Benedict’s Winter Ale, a hand-crafted ale using generous amounts of dark roasted malts and the finest noble hops for a robust warming flavor.

This year’s spicy Whole Hog Pumpkin Ale has been aged in Kentucky bourbon barrels for a year. Now available in limited quantities in Wisconsin and Illinois retail accounts, it is not sold in the Whole Hog family’s traditional four-packs. Instead, Whole Hog Bourbon Barrel Pumpkin Ale is sold in in select bars and restaurants and off-premise in loose cases of 12-ounce bottles, a package aimed especially at the single-serve market that thrives in supermarkets, liquor stores and convenience stores.
