We take our year-round production Big Eye IPA and infuse fresh skinned, sliced ginger root into the beer post fermentation. We have aged our Tongue Buckler Imperial Red Ale in bourbon barrels and it is ready to drink. Yep, that 10% ABV monstrosity has been, as they say, kicked up a notch. We didn’t want the beer to lose all of it’s hallmark hoppiness. And after only a couple of months, a lot remains. Flavors of vanilla and oak now intertwine with the malty sweetness and are countered by a pronounced hop bitterness.

An International Pale Ale with sugars fermented from brown rice and late kettle additions of locally grown Meyer Lemons. We kept the recipe the same as the West to East I.P.A., except for the substitution of brown rice for the sake rice and Meyer Lemon peel, grown in Jamul, for the Yuzu peel.

The recipe for this Saison was pulled from our extensive R&D catalogue. It was brewed to be a flavorful and refreshing session beer that you can enjoy all day long. The beer pours a warm straw color with a slight haze. The aroma is full of spice notes that you would expect from this Saison yeast strain. Light malts with touches of rye and wheat form a great backbone to support the delicate flavor and aroma which is enhanced with a bit of hop spiciness. The body finishes light and dry. It’s a super easy drinking beer, perfect for a day of home brewing.

Ballast Point’s Brewing and Spirits Navigator Doppelbock is inspired by the strong German dark lagers and bock’s. Briess Extra Special malt helps create the source of the flavors that dominate the aroma and taste buds in Navigator. You are able to enjoy forward flavors of caramelized malt sugars and dried fruits, such as raisins, apricots and prunes. This strong lager is a big malt-driven beer that truly deserves the nickname “liquid bread.”

Impossibly reddish in color (due to the beets) with nitro cascade fading into a pink cap of stable foam, great clarity. Seeing the beer in the glass shows the obvious resemblance to a slice of red velvet cake (red cake on the bottom topped with a layer of creamy white frosting). But the similarities don’t end there. The aroma is dominated by chocolate with earthy notes of beets and subtle wafts of roast coco.

Ballast Point Brewing - Yellowtail Pale Ale
Style: Kolsch
ABV: 5.00% IBU: 23.0

There's no wonder why our Pale Ale is so popular--it is skillfully crafted in the style of the Kolsch beers of Cologne, Germany. We've chosen German hops for aroma, and rounded out the recipe with a blend of American and German malts. While it is very much like a pilsner, our Pale Ale is fermented at ale temperatures, giving it a subdued fruitiness--a perfect compliment to the crispness of the wheat and maltiness of the Munich malt. If you like a lighter brew but also like the complexity of craft beers, then our Pale Ale is for you.

	Ballast Point Brewing - Zane Style: Double IPA ABV: 8.60% This is a super hoppy IPA for you. It’s got tons of big hop aroma and a little bitterness bite. The beer pours a nice light yellow. The bitterness is present, but not overwhelming. In the hop aroma you will find notes of pineapple, passionfruit, and hop resin. We’ve included Denali hops, which were just released this year.
