This beer is a fun union of old-world and new-world concepts that began as a traditional German Altbier, featuring, bitter, roasty notes combined with pine, toast and caramel flavors from a complex malt bill and combination of hops. After fermentation concluded, the ale was rested on blueberries to add additional fruit and juice flavors. The result is a delicious quaff that resembles pumpernickel with a light coat of blueberry jam.
